A global commercial banking and payments leader operating across more than 100 countries partnered with Altimetrik to modernize its 20-year-old legacy platform. The client’s 20-year-old monolithic platform had accumulated significant technical debt, limiting performance, scalability, and innovation. Two previous modernization attempts had added further complexity without addressing the underlying architectural constraints.
Outdated interfaces and slow APIs affected the customer experience, while evolving security and regulatory requirements increased pressure on the platform. Downtime-heavy deployments, limited automation, and weak DevOps practices extended release cycles and restricted the organization’s ability to expand into new markets.
The legacy platform reduced the organization’s ability to respond quickly to changing customer expectations and regulatory demands. Slow releases and downtime-dependent deployments increased operational risk across global time zones.

Altimetrik applied the Strangler pattern to progressively replace components of the monolith with modern services. Advanced traffic management routed users seamlessly between legacy and new environments, while persona-based migration enabled individual customer journeys to transition without downtime.
Applications, infrastructure, engineering tools, and delivery processes were modernized in parallel. Enhanced DevOps practices, automation, and a secure service-based architecture accelerated releases and enabled elastic scaling. A responsive user interface with built-in A/B testing also supported continuous experience optimization.
