Business Challenge

Validating the Fedwire Funds Service meant covering complex use cases and regulatory risk conditions across remittances, FX trades, loan payments, and compliance checks, all at high value and high daily volume. Message processing had to be proven across both the Fed and SWIFT networks, including multiple SWIFT MT message types.

With 12,700 high-value transactions worth 20 billion dollars flowing daily, there was little tolerance for error and a heavy manual testing burden to overcome.

Why It Mattered

At 20 billion dollars a day, a single unvalidated failure path in wire processing carries direct financial and regulatory consequence. Comprehensive, repeatable validation was the difference between confident operation and material operational risk.

Solution

Altimetrik enabled validation coverage across the Money Transfer System, Remote Wire Initiation, and SWIFT applications supporting domestic and international wire processing. The team documented business requirements and executed functional, UI, integration, and user-acceptance testing to prove transaction accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Connectivity and message processing were validated across the Fed and SWIFT networks, including support for multiple SWIFT MT message types. Automation was introduced to reduce the manual testing burden and make validation repeatable across releases.
